Political Reads
As mentioned in another post, stellar year for political books. I haven't had a chance to read them all but here are a few i have.
Party Of One - Michael Harris
Stunning collection of actions by Stephen Harper and his cohorts in Conservative Party of Canada.
Dark Money - Jane Mayer
A good long look and history of money in politics, especially from people like the Koch Bros, Sheldon Adelson, and others in the wealthiest part of the Conservative movement. The impacts on the pressure for deregulation, and other conservative pet projects. From funding special interest think groups (often with Freedom in name) and groups like Citizens United which pushed to bring dark money into hyperdrive at the federal level. Astonishing amounts are spent to swing elections both at local and national levels.
Secrets of the Kingdom - Gerald Posner
An in depth and interesting look at the relationship between Saudia Arabia and USA. Has some interesting background on not only the relationship with Saudia Arabia and United States, but Israel's as well and the push and pull between the lobbyists of both countries and the US Congress and other politicians. From Arm Sales to George W Bush and 9/11. Doesn't feel like a partisan read, as it covers the relationship between both Democratic and Republican sides of Congress and Presidents. Written before Obama moved into White House.
Coming Soon:
Shopping for Votes - Susan Delacourt
Kill the Messengers - Mark Bourrie
The War on Science -

I've gotten away from reading books as much as i use to. With the internet, i read a lot of articles and other information. This New Year though, i'm making my book a week pledge. I challenge others to join me.
The first book I am tackling is Trust Agents by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith. I met both at an event in Victoria, B.C. Canada called Social Media Camp. They were speakers at this incredible Social Media Conference on all things in social media. They were both incredible speakers who inspired me and when I saw that this book was written by both of them, had to have it. Julien Smith really inspired me with his story, energy and smarts. Chris Brogan has vast experience in social media world and has really made an impact where ever he goes, I was really blown away by his presentation. If you are ever in Victoria in May, I highly recommend tickets to this event. Website is http://socialmediacamp.ca
So onto the book Trust Agents by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith - Using The Web to Build Influence, Improve Reputation and Earn Trust. New York Times Bestseller Kobo link here https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/ebook/trust-agents
Will give a review once book is finished.
